Although English Bulldogs are short hair dogs, you should brush them regularly. If brushing is done regularly and correctly, you will limit the amount of baths your bulldog needs.
Brushing should be done in the same direction as the hair grows (from head to tail). Brush from the head toward the tail and down the side of the legs.
Heat from your house or car can dry out the dog's skin. You should check the inside thighs and armpits to make sure it is not red or dried out. A little dab of petroleum jelly or baby oil on the palm of your hands and rubbed on the dry area should do the trick.
